We are seeking a Technical Apparel Sample sewer to join our team.
The Sample sewer transforms technical concepts into physical reality through high-precision assembly.
Working in close collaboration with the Pattern Maker, they will be responsible for sewing prototypes that validate fit, construction, and functionality before designs move to mass production.
Responsibilities:
- Sewing Techniques: Expert knowledge of complex sewing methods and finishes, specifically tailored for men's garments and high-end construction
- Industrial Machinery Expertise: Deep familiarity with a wide range of industrial sewing machines (e.g., Lockstitch, Overlock, Buttonhole) and the ability to adjust settings based on fabric weight and type
- Workflow Optimization: Ability to identify and execute the most efficient sewing sequences to maximize productivity without compromising quality
- Pattern Understanding: Strong ability to interpret patterns and technical drawings to ensure precise assembly and perfect fit
- Material Handling: Exceptional skill in handling diverse fabrics (from heavy wovens to technical knits), ensuring correct tension, seam strength, and fabric behavior
- Quality Control & Precision: Sharp eye for detail to ensure every garment meets strict quality standards, with consistent stitching and clean finishing
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in professional sewing, specializing in men’s apparel
- Must be able to read and interpret complex paper or digital patterns, including all technical markings, notches, and grainlines, to ensure perfect garment assembly
- Expert in industrial machinery (Lockstitch, Overlock, etc.) and technical maintenance
- Proven ability to define efficient sewing sequences to streamline production
- Deep knowledge of fabric behavior and finishing techniques
